This policy explains what information DeepFakeGuard ("we", "us") collects when you use deepfakeguard.app, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions can be sent to support@deepfakeguard.app.
Information we collect
- Account details. Your email address and a salted hash of your password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Media you provide. Images and videos you upload or import, along with file details such as name, size, type and a SHA-256 hash.
- Analysis results. Scan scores, frame-level results for video, generated reports, and your monthly usage counts.
- Billing information. Paid plans are sold through our payment provider, Paddle. Paddle collects and processes your payment details. We do not receive or store your card number. We keep the customer and subscription identifiers Paddle gives us, and your subscription status.
- Technical and usage data. Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested), a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and analytics data described below.
- Emails. If you ask for a password reset or contact support, we process your email address and message.
How we use information
- To run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
- To analyze the media you submit and show you the results and reports you request.
- To enforce plan limits, take payments through Paddle and manage your subscription.
- To send service emails such as password resets and replies to support requests.
- To monitor, troubleshoot and improve the service, and to prevent abuse and fraud.
We use your uploaded media only to provide the analysis you request.
Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie that is necessary for sign-in. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as your approximate location, device and pages viewed. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with a tracking-protection tool.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the service, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Google Cloud, which hosts the application, database, private media storage and task processing.
- Paddle, which acts as the seller of record for paid plans and handles payment processing, taxes and refunds under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Google Analytics, for site analytics.
- Our email provider, to deliver service and support emails.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the service, or as part of a business transfer.
Storage, retention and deletion
Uploaded media is stored in private cloud storage and is not publicly accessible. By default the uploaded file is deleted automatically once its scan completes (and any file left behind is removed within one day); we keep only the scan result, file name, size and hash. You can delete any media item from your dashboard, which removes the stored file and its record. Monthly usage counters are not reset when you delete media. To delete your account and associated data, email support@deepfakeguard.app from the address on your account. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups, and we may keep billing and transaction records for as long as the law or legitimate business purposes require.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and private storage. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email support@deepfakeguard.app. We may need to verify your identity first.
Children
DeepFakeGuard is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International use
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date above, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
